The Consulate of Mozambique in Mbombela has confirmed the deaths of four (4) Mozambican citizens in a severe road traffic accident that occurred this Thursday, July 23.
The crash took place in the locality of Ngodwana, in the South African province of Mpumalanga, along the N4 highway.
According to police authorities cited by the diplomatic mission, the accident involved two passenger transport vans and a heavy truck. Due to the high-impact collision, one of the vehicles caught fire, resulting in two of the deceased victims being burned beyond recognition.
The Consulate of Mozambique in Mbombela assured that it is closely monitoring the situation. The consular team is currently working in coordination with local authorities to carry out the official identification of all victims.
