Opposition parties said that President Cyril Ramaphosa’s application to interdict the section 89 impeachment inquiry is just another delay tactic.
The parties expressed their disappointment on Friday after the Western Cape High Court granted Ramaphosa’s application to interdict the parliamentary probe over the Phala Phala farm scandal.
Ramaphosa approached the court to have the section 89 inquiry halted pending a review of the independent panel report, which gave rise to the impeachment inquiry.
The MK party’s Andile Mngxitama was also critical of the judgement saying the rule of law is being subverted by Ramaphosa.
